This newest entry in the hard-boiled adventure series starring Detective Saburo Jinguji marks thirty years of history. The game delves into Jinguji's youth with an origin story that will satisfy both new players and long-time enthusiasts. The plot begins a month after the murder of Saburo's grandfather, Kyosuke, in New York. Saburo arrives in the city to sort through his grandfather's belongings and memories, but the reunion with old friends and the city's atmosphere is quickly overshadowed by mystery. He discovers that Kyosuke's dying word was "Daedalus." Determined to understand the meaning behind the word and the motive for the murder, Saburo reflects on his grandfather's advice to tend the "orchard of your mind." Alone, he takes on the burden of the case. Key gameplay systems include a POV-based investigation for finding hidden clues, the "Orchard of Your Mind" where thoughts grow into solutions, and a "Stance Change" feature that lets Saburo adjust his attitude during conversations to elicit different reactions and information from suspects.
