About This Game

Ark Noir is a resource management-heavy RPG that lets you customize characters using numerous Perks and strategically use randomly appearing items to survive in harsh conditions. Despite featuring completely original systems with custom-made elements, the game follows traditional RPG mechanics with simple rules that players can quickly grasp. Set aboard the massive emigrant ship Noir, which is gradually sinking into the ocean, you'll face difficult choices. You can either increase your Fortune while helping survivors or focus on uncovering the truth behind this catastrophic accident. The game features three main characters: Albert, a government reporter with balanced skills who was investigating the Noir's lowest level when the disaster struck; Bruno, the Noir's acting Chief of Security who wears custom-powered armor and uses a chain hook in combat; and Caroline, daughter of politician Patrick Dunant, who possesses high Fortune to compensate for her weaker strength. Gameplay includes three modes: Search Mode where you explore the sinking ship, battle various beasts, encounter survivors, and find useful items; Battle Mode where you must strategically use weapons and items to fight fierce beasts from the continent while managing their durability; and Adventure Mode where you interact with other survivors through events and conversations, choosing whether to help them with their problems or leave them to fate. The leveling system increases the main character's level every four EXP earned, with bonuses including HP/Fortune recovery or status buffs. You can also acquire new Perks as you level up, and by fulfilling certain conditions, unlock additional Initial Perk options and slots. If you successfully escape the Ark Noir, you can replay the game with increased variety and number of Initial Perks, allowing you to pursue different goals such as saving all survivors, solving the mystery, seeing special endings, or attempting hand-to-hand combat challenges.
