About This Game

When I regained consciousness, I found myself in an unfamiliar room. As I surveyed my surroundings, examining objects, opening doors, and operating machines, my awareness gradually increased. Eventually, I became capable of performing various actions, progressing from searching blindly to actively solving puzzles. Relying on what I had come to understand, I finally found my way out. This represents a new type of escape game, slightly different from ordinary ones; the girl initially lacks sufficient "awareness" and can only recognize a "fridge" as "a large metallic box" or a "tree" as something with "rough and busy texture." As mentioned, this is a novel style of escape game where you start without any clues or puzzles to solve! Naturally, you can still escape eventually. When you "Check" or "Interact" with objects in the room, your "Awareness" level increases, and the girl begins to recognize the true nature of each object. For example, the girl might pick up an item at some point but has no idea what it is or how to use it; once her "Awareness" reaches a certain level, she realizes it's a "handle-like object" that can be used somewhere. While playing, I felt like I was quickly re-experiencing how a baby improves its perception by feeling everything in its surroundings. The game also provided many "Aha!" moments (the eureka effect). It was a very pleasant experience overall. Maximizing your "Awareness" level isn't the end, but rather the beginning of the puzzle. When stuck, go back to basics and "Check" and "Interact" with all objects again! A small hint: When you "Check" or "Interact" with an object, a "?" or "!" icon appears over the girl's head. If it has no color, you're already "aware" of those objects. When the level reaches 50% or 100%, the color returns and you'll have detailed information about the objects. When you use or lose an item, you can usually collect it again from where you found it. So don't worry and retrieve the item! (Sorry, the girl cannot run). When you have too many items and no space for a new one, go back and return another item. You can place items by using them at the same location where you found them (same action as when picking them up). Controls (keyboard recommended): Move: Arrow keys; Check/Interact: Z key; Switch action: Hold the left Shift key and select with Arrow keys. When faced with something you don't understand, you might feel fear or curiosity, but sometimes also enjoyment as it begins to make sense. I wanted to recreate that feeling in a game, so I created "Awareness Rooms." I hope you also feel the pleasure of the vague gradually taking shape as you solve each puzzle.
