About This Game
Are you prepared to take command of the Captain’s Chair? From the developers of Vincere Totus Astrum, enter a realm of discovery and excitement. As the commander of your own vessel, embark on a voyage across literally infinite worlds by first customizing your procedurally generated species and starship, then launching into the cosmos. Meet extraterrestrial species and visit exotic places as you navigate a limitless, procedurally generated universe. No two playthroughs are identical. While exploring, random "Episodes" will have you engaging hostile crafts, aiding aliens, and landing on the surfaces of undiscovered planets. How long can you endure the depths of space? How far can you go? Discover what awaits! Your adventure starts now! The adventure begins by choosing a Home Star from the introductory galaxy map. Zoom into your new system and pick a homeworld. The star type and planet class influence your race's base statistics. A low-gravity, cool, and wet world usually produces docile sentient beings, whereas harsher environments create more aggressive species. These differences determine their combat readiness or scientific aptitude. From these base stats, you define your race's appearance using procedural tools and choose their societal background. These decisions influence your starship's final design. Using procedural generation, the game builds unique ship layouts that you can modify. Design choices impact the ship's stats and abilities. Once ready, depart for the stars. Bit Odyssey is designed to be infinite... provided you are a competent Starship Captain. Players can pick a direction and travel endlessly if they wish. The game ends if you are killed or exhaust your resources. During travel, orbit stars to gather fuel. Need repairs? Visit a mineral-rich planet to mine, or trade with a passing traveler. Exploration is engaging, but while jumping between stars, you will encounter random "Episode triggers." These triggers start adventures generated by the Mission Matrix. For example, you might find a plasma trail during interstellar travel. The bridge crew might ask to investigate. If you agree, the game might lead you to a distressed ship in an asteroid field, one under attack, or crashed on a planet. Your choices shape the outcome. Attacking the damaged vessel makes you an enemy of that race, while towing them to safety gains you an ally. **Features** **Galaxy is big** And when I say big, I mean vast, like a never-ending galaxy filled with stars, planets, nebulae, and other cosmic phenomena. **Do you have that ship in a different color?** Yes, we can do that using our procedural generation algorithms. Everything from planets and stars to ships and races is created on the fly. Furthermore, we provide tools to edit your Ship and race. **Lets fire blue particle cannons full...** Participate in battles against up to three enemy vessels. The Mission Matrix adds excitement; a ship might flee battle, giving you the option to pursue. Catching them might result in finishing them off, or finding two of their friends waiting. **You think they have apples on an alien planet?** I am not sure about apples, but the concept allows you to explore infinite alien worlds and conduct various away missions. Planets contain unique items your science officer can scan and your engineer can collect for trading. **Making Friends will be important** Communicating, trading, and assisting other spacefarers benefits you, as every race you meet remembers if you are an enemy, neutral, or friend. This affects future interactions. **Episodes for everyone!** In Bit Odyssey, we have developed a generator that creates randomized missions, or "episodes." Each episode lasts about 3-8 minutes on average and includes search and rescue, transport, combat, and more. Imagine receiving a distress signal, approaching a ship, and realizing it's a trap. After defeating them and searching, you find the stranded crew on a nearby planet. The unique Mission Matrix generates over 100 different "episode" types and combines them. **Stuff is cool...** Players can collect and store unique plants, materials, and relics discovered during the journey. You can trade them for other resources or information.
