Central Intelligence serves as a rigorous evaluation of your strategic capabilities in a CIA-themed assignment. You will operate through three domains—Propaganda, Military, and Political—to secure your objectives. Select your actions with prudence; a single move could initiate a chain reaction that results in unintended fallout across the expansive theater of operations. This is a strategy game focused on espionage and covert actions, rich with political nuances. You take on the role of a CIA chief deployed to Sao Madrigal, an island nation oppressed by a dictatorship that enjoys Chinese support. Since this regime threatens U.S. regional interests, your mandate is to facilitate the return of democracy by whatever means necessary. You control a roster of CIA agents categorized into Political, Propaganda, and Military branches. Rather than staging a direct military coup, the gameplay focuses on backing and organizing the island's various opposition factions—ranging from irate students and guerrillas to political parties—against the ruling power. Employ tactics such as propaganda, bribery, subterfuge, assassinations, and blackmail to achieve your ends, regardless of whether the factions are aware of your involvement.
