About This Game
Developed in collaboration with Uwe Eickert, the original creator, and Western Civilization Software, an award-winning studio, this title brings the exceptional Conflict of Heroes gameplay to the PC with utmost dedication. The game features an AI opponent and comprehensive multiplayer options including an integrated lobby and forum. The PC adaptation is designed to be fast, fun, and accessible, while remaining challenging to master. It offers historical accuracy and rewards combined arms tactics at the platoon and company levels without bogging players down in complex rules. Set in 1941 during Operation Barbarossa, the narrative follows the German invasion of the Soviet Union. After initial easy victories, the Germans faced a fierce Soviet counter-attack as winter set in, shifting the momentum. The game transports players to the Eastern Front with a historically accurate roster of Axis and Soviet infantry, artillery, and mechanized units. Unit distinctions are emphasized by factoring in armor thickness, slope deflection, speed, and crew training through an easy-to-learn system. The release includes all ten original scenarios, plus eleven new Frontier scenarios, five Commanding Heights scenarios, and a flexible "Partisan Road" Point Buy scenario. A scenario editor is also available for custom content. Scenarios are playable in about an hour, focusing on pivotal battle moments, with in-game tutorials included. Features include a "Persistent AP" mode as default, "Fog of War" options, unit quality variations, new bunkers, ruined buildings, and point buy rules. Line of Sight utilizes 3D ray casting for complex terrain. Some board game elements are adapted or omitted, such as specific Action Cards and weapon cards, to fit the digital format.
