About This Game

Dubbed "Lucasarts from Germany" by GameStar magazine, Daedalic Entertainment invites players into a whimsical comedy adventure centered on the chaotic romance between Rufus and Goal. Set in a world that has devolved into an immense wasteland, the story follows the grumpy Rufus as he scrapes together a meager existence amidst literal mountains of refuse. Belonging to the lowest social caste, he dreams of ascending to the affluent city floating high above the clouds. Luck appears to favor the arrogant ne'er-do-well when Goal, a stunning woman from the upper sector, crashes down into a trash pile. Rufus resolves to assist her by returning her to her spouse, but upon discovering that her husband is his exact double, he concocts a wicked plan to infiltrate the upper world. However, complications arise as he develops genuine affection for the beauty, tempering his typically ruthless nature. Guide the underdog Rufus in his quest to woo the girl from heaven; only with her help might he find a way to leave Deponia behind and perhaps even save the world in the process. Key features include distinctive hand-drawn high-definition 2D visuals in a comic style, eccentric characters and absurd humor, demanding puzzles and extensive dialogue, a unique universe inspired by Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, and Matt Groening, and development by the award-winning team behind Edna & Harvey and The Whispered World.
