About This Game

Dyscourse is an interactive narrative experience driven by player decisions, set in a stylized universe where every action carries weight. You assume the role of Rita, a barista and art school graduate stranded on a desert island alongside a quirky group of travelers following a plane crash. Your final decision could be crucial for the group's survival or might spiral into a tale of murder and cannibalism. The narratives in Dyscourse emerge organically, with your choices directly impacting whether the group lives or dies. By interacting with fellow castaways and making critical interpersonal choices, drama unfolds dynamically, allowing you to craft your own distinct story. We designed Dyscourse to ensure that players experience vastly different outcomes based on their decisions; every playthrough yields a unique narrative. Featuring over 120,000 words and hours of replayable content, each session lets you explore more of the "story space" to uncover the truth about the crash and your companions. There are no strictly "good" or "bad" endings in Dyscourse—the best way to survive is entirely up to you to decide. Originally a successful Kickstarter project, Dyscourse met its $40,000 funding goal in November 2013 thanks to over 2,000 backers. A Special Edition is available, including the 77-song soundtrack, a mid-development documentary, a digital art-book, and wallpapers. Additionally, the "Indie Island" bonus story is now available, featuring ten indie game developers—such as Tim Schafer, Edmund McMillen, and Phil Tibitoski—stranded together after a flight gone wrong.
