About This Game

This Masters Edition bundle enables you to combine the grand strategy elements of Field of Glory: Empires with the tactical depth of Field of Glory II, allowing you to become the supreme ruler of the Ancient World. Set during the Rise of Rome between 280 BC and 25 BC, this title brings the tabletop experience to life digitally using a brand new 3D engine developed by legendary designer Richard Bodley Scott. Engage in vast or small-scale conflicts for Rome, against it, or between other nations, including hypothetical "what-if" battles that never occurred in history. Command a diverse array of armies with unique tactical doctrines and lead your forces and named generals to victory in historical set-piece engagements or custom scenarios against AI or human opponents. Key features include an authentic simulation of ancient warfare, 86 historically accurate units built from fully animated 3D models like Roman legionaries and war elephants, and 12 historical scenarios ranging from Bagradas 255 BC to Thapsus 46 BC. The Custom Battle system offers unlimited scenarios using historically accurate army lists for Romans, Carthaginians, Gauls, and Parthians, while the Campaign mode lets you rewrite history through the careers of ancient generals. Additional features include a random map generator for infinite terrains, classic turn-based tile-based gameplay, battles with up to 80 units per side, single player and multiplayer modes including PBEM, six difficulty levels, effective AI, and a mod-friendly system with a map editor.
