About This Game

"Typically, when you die, you have just one simple wish: to return and inform them—'Hey, guys—it's alright! No need to be sad! Because you know what? It's actually fine on both sides, really.' But returning is difficult—the only path is through dreams—'half-dreams'—'ghost-dreams'. The tricky part is that if you become stuck, you transform into a demon. It is hard to define exactly what that is, but we assume it is a painful and pointless existence. It is better to avoid that, really.

My own 'tricky part' is that I am already trapped here. I have no idea how I will escape this time...

During his journey to the 'Other Side', Reader (and his 'natural companion' Writer) encounters various Ghosts and Demons, Holy Spirits and Gods. He also meets Singer, who is neither a Ghost nor a Demon. At some point, she becomes significant to Reader. Realizing this will not stop him, however.

The world of Ghostdream should be frightening, yet it is not—it is simply dark. The story should be sorrowful since the characters are essentially dead, but it is not, because they generally recall nothing, except for a minor detail or two (the protagonist, for instance, remembers reading a book—which is why they call him Reader. It is his only memory, after all).

Ghostdream is a retro-style Point and Click Adventure game featuring puzzles, exploration, and narrative.
