About This Game
Drawing inspiration from the beloved first-person shooters of the past, we have gathered the most memorable features and placed them into a toolkit for you to mix and match as you see fit. At its core, Gunscape is a construction kit for FPS games. It allows you to unleash your creativity in an action-packed sandbox environment. This is achieved through user-friendly tools that utilize a block-placement system everyone already knows, enabling the creation of single-player campaigns, co-op maps, and multiplayer arenas, along with the ability to share your creations with friends. If you prefer playing over building, you can simply fight your way through swarms of monsters or compete against others. Maps can be shared, played, and rated by the global community, ensuring you always have fresh content available!
The game is structured around themes derived from the entire FPS genre, ranging from early classics to modern triple-A stealth and military shooters. Each theme set includes distinct world building blocks, character models, adversaries (including bosses!), music tracks, skyboxes, unique level elements (such as traps and teleporters), and—of course—GUNS (alongside bombs, bats, swords, flamethrowers, chainsaws, rocket launchers, and much more. 38 weapons are currently planned!). Assets from different sets are designed to be freely combined when constructing your worlds, and the content in each set has been carefully curated to avoid repetition and highlight the truly iconic aspects of the games that inspired them.
We believe it is crucial that anyone can create their own levels. In the era of Doom and Build engine games, level editors were simple enough that learning to create a new adventure didn't take much time. While experts could craft impressive architectural feats, the rest of us could still build enjoyable challenges thanks to tightly-designed game engines focused on pure core gameplay. In such a game, it doesn't matter how many times you test and adjust the layout to perfect your map, or how abstract the level becomes. This is the philosophy driving Gunscape. It is also why we chose to focus on polishing the multiplayer experience in the pre-alpha demo, as we see this as one of the best methods for developing and refining the core gameplay.
Naturally, there is little value in creating great play experiences if no one else gets to enjoy them! Gunscape features a server for sharing your creations, and the game includes a built-in map browser with filtering and voting systems. This allows anyone full access to every public player-made level, regardless of the theme packs used to create them. The available demo (details coming later) contains levels we have assembled, and we will continue to add more as we finish new content to demonstrate the immense potential for creating amazing things with Gunscape!

Game Features
- Solo, split-screen, and online co-op multiplayer level creation! Construct maps at your leisure or invite friends to assist! Switch between editing and action mode instantly to test your map on the fly or simply to shoot each other.
- Single-player campaign mode: play or design a sequence or branching tree of levels with or without a narrative. Construct a complete self-contained adventure or a gauntlet of daunting challenges.
- Co-op mode: team up with one or more friends to conquer a dedicated co-op map or take a single-player map and ramp up the difficulty.
- Multiplayer arenas: design maps with multiple spawn points and power-ups, then invite friends or host a public game for intense online action using various multiplayer modes. This includes classics like free-for-all and team deathmatch, capture the flag variants, king of the hill, and domination/point capture modes, as well as different tag/infection variants. We plan to include many of these and continue adding more, such as flexible objectives like race to the finish. These can be used to build multiplayer rocket jump courses or other challenge maps, such as competitive adventures through trap-filled dungeons, or hunter mode which awards points for killing monsters, allowing you to create your own MP dinosaur safari.
- Cross-platform multiplayer: optional where it matters most, but excellent to have for cross-platform co-op!
- Global and persistent map sharing: anyone can play the levels you distribute, no matter the platform
- 8 multiplayer match modes
