About This Game
GUTS (Gory Ultimate Tournament Show) is a hilarious, ultra-violent fighting game with a Tarantino-esque flair where the objective is to dismember opponents by severing arms and legs. Since there is no health bar, simply punching and kicking is insufficient; fighters must rip off all four of an enemy's limbs and land a final blow to win. The battle persists even if a character is reduced to just two stumps. To dismember foes, players can use GUTS Moves, which are special unblockable attacks, or Hazards—unique traps found within each stage that remove limbs upon contact. The game is set in a hyper-consumerist 2067 society where a scientist discovered that high TV violence levels keep people healthy, making fighters the world's biggest celebrities. Each of the nine characters has a unique story and motivation to join the tournament. The showrunner actively entertains the audience, potentially disabling healing or defense moves to spice up the fight. Gameplay mechanics include a unique dismemberment system where attacks change based on remaining limbs, and a U-Points system used to heal or recover lost parts. Players can also pick up severed limbs to use as weapons. The game features easy-to-execute controls without complex input lists, over eight hours of single-player content with 18 distinct endings, and online gameplay (currently in beta). Additionally, the soundtrack adapts dynamically to the number of limbs left on the battlefield.
