Helen's Mysterious Castle

Created using RPG Maker, this game includes engine-specific features. Press Alt + Enter to switch display modes and note that F12 resets the game, so you should remap the Steam Overlay screenshot key. Helen wakes up knowing nothing of her identity or location on a floating island holding a mysterious castle. Guided by curiosity, she explores the dungeon, fights monsters, and finds equipment. The game uses a unique 1-on-1 combat system where Helen fights solo, swapping weapons mid-battle based on timing and enemy behavior. Use experience points to upgrade weapons and find new ones hidden in the labyrinth. Your arsenal can include bows, shields, broadswords, and magic spells. Key characters include Helen, a girl of few words; Ardis, who lives with her; the Demon King, ruler of the terrifying Four Lords; the Undead Knight, who seems to appear wherever Helen goes; Zack, another adventuring hero; and his Fairy attendant. Death allows you to restart in the cabin with a Salisbury steak that permanently increases your maximum HP. The FAQ states Helen does not level up, only her items. If glitches occur, use F4 or Alt + Enter for window mode. A game manual exists at C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Helen's Mysterious Castle\helen. The Japanese version requires a Japanese system locale to function.
