Roughly 1,000 tanks and assault guns engaged near Prochorovka in a close-range firefight that was pivotal to the outcome of Operation Zitadelle. The 2nd SS Panzer Korps initiated their offensive on July 3rd, requiring eight days to penetrate the deep Russian defenses. Following a breakthrough and the repulsion of a counterattack by the Russian 31st Tank Corps on the evening of the 11th, the panzers reorganized and moved north before dawn on the 12th. At daybreak, German forces collided with the Soviet 5th Guards Tank Army, sparking a full day of fierce close-quarters combat. You can simulate this historic day, playing as either the Russians or Germans, or competing against the AI. The game features turn-based mechanics with Move and Attack phases, battalion-level units that mirror the historical order of battle, and specific Attack, Defense, and Movement allowances. Artillery units possess a Range allowance. The terrain map includes crucial features like the embanked railway line and river, effectively dividing the conflict into three separate battles.
