About This Game
Double Fine Productions presents MASSIVE CHALICE, a tactical strategy experience played out over an extensive timeline. Acting as the realm's Immortal Ruler, you command heroes, create unions to fortify your Bloodlines, and wage war against the mysterious Cadence over a period of centuries.
Key Features
- Bloodline Genetics - The game introduces a distinct Bloodline mechanism enabling players to wed heroes and have offspring. Each hero possesses a randomized genetic code, meaning children may inherit a mix of their parents' most advantageous—or detrimental—gameplay traits.
- Permadeath - Characters within MASSIVE CHALICE age as time progresses and will eventually die. This mechanic necessitates managing permadeath, compelling players to constantly manage a roster of heroes that is never perfect.
- Bloodline Relics - Should a hero perish after fighting bravely, their weapon might transform into a Bloodline Relic. This formidable item can be bequeathed to any member of the same house, preserving the legacy of the deceased.
- Long View Strategy - With the conflict spanning three centuries, players must adopt a strategic perspective focused on the long term. Crucial decisions must be made decades in advance; the child playing today will eventually become your most trusted melee combatant.
