About This Game

"Life is like a waiting room, except people don't leave in the order they enter." When the moment arrives to depart, where will it be? And will you be able to smile in the end? Narcissu explores profound themes through its visual novel format, examining terminal illness, the nature of living and dying, and the relationships between those who are leaving and those who remain behind. This series presents a realistic portrayal without miracles, heroes, or villains—just life as characters face death in an indifferent, unyielding reality. The original games have been downloaded over a million times, earning praise for their moving narratives and production quality. The series has expanded into manga and light novel formats and has been translated into multiple languages worldwide. This anthology introduces previously Japan-exclusive content to global audiences, featuring enhanced artwork, voice acting, and a brand new chapter exclusive to this release: "Sumire." Breaking new musical ground, this anthology builds upon the beloved soundtrack that has captivated thousands of Narcissu fans by adding two video game music legends: Chris Huelsbeck (known for Turrican) and Hiroki Kikuta (known for Secret of Mana). The complete narrative spans 5 games, brought to fruition through a successful Kickstarter campaign. The original games (Narcissu 1st & 2nd) are available for free on Steam, while this anthology offers 4 additional scenarios in the series. This anthology includes these core games: Narcissu - The beginning of the series, following two terminally ill patients who meet in the 7th floor hospice. Neither is comfortable in their surroundings, leading them to embark on a journey together. Narcissu 2 - A prequel told through Setsumi's perspective, revealing the story of a patient named Himeko. Narcissu 2 - Himeko's Epilogue, chronicling the final moments of Himeko's story. Additionally, these stand-alone chapters are available as DLC: Narcissu: A Little Iris - A side story set in medieval Europe, examining the meaning behind the desire to live or die. Narcissu: Zero - The origin story of the 7th floor hospice and its established rules. Narcissu: Sumire - A completely new chapter following two girls whose paths cross: one dying and the other seeking death, both burdened with profound regrets about their lives.
