Navigate the archipelago, seek conflict, and aim to be the final survivor to claim all available loot; even if you fall, your fame and achievements persist. The gameplay evolves through different phases across varied settings. On the open water, ready your vessel to sail solo or with a team, utilizing bombs, ramming tactics, and boarding actions to dominate the islands. Within the forests, scavenge for necessary equipment and rum in shipwrecks, abandoned villages, and ancient ruins to gain an advantage over rivals. In the dark caves, dock at a hideout and use maps to secure treasure ahead of others, completing objectives by placing gold on a cursed altar and defending it to secure victory. The title blends free-roaming exploration with objective-based gameplay driven by greed. While you can develop your own strategies, the system ensures encounters with enemies through randomized loot placement and adaptive objectives. Dynamic spawn points and weather-dependent sailing maintain a high, challenging pace. The curse is real, offering a final opportunity to secure the Kraken gold and avoid eternal damnation on the Damned Island. Avoid the perimeter of death while exploiting the advantages of the curse. Fallen pirates can battle in the afterlife for a resurrection or be revived by living crewmates, or even sacrifice blood to summon a new ship. Arm yourself with a diverse arsenal of firearms and attachments, ranging from flintlock pistols and four-barrel revolvers to revolving rifles and hand cannons. For heavier firepower, utilize ship-mounted cannons and mortars, or simply capture them from adversaries.
