Painkiller: Resurrection

William "Bill" Sherman faces a fatal issue—he is deceased. Having been blown to bits by his own C4 charge meant to take out a South American drug kingpin for a shadowy intelligence agency, he now finds himself in purgatory. A complication arose when he accidentally destroyed a bus of innocent people, making Hell eager to claim his soul. Heaven's warriors, however, have taken an interest in Bill, offering him a shot at redemption for the chaos he caused by utilizing his unique talents and an array of bizarre, crazy weaponry. Developed by Homegrown Games with input from former developers of the series, Studio Med-Art, and a Catholic priest, Painkiller Resurrection merges unrelenting action with a gripping narrative and meticulously researched details. Set within a surreal world inspired by medieval depictions of the afterlife and Dante's Inferno, the game delivers a unique experience through a blend of rapid, direct stages and vast, explorable regions infested with hell's worst denizens. The title features a unique story presented via high-quality graphic novel cutscenes, a completely overhauled "Painkiller 2.0 engine" boasting shader effects, weather systems, advanced physics, and fast netcode with anticheat, an arsenal combining the best weapons from the franchise with new tools of death, classic FPS levels alongside huge explorable zones for varied gameplay, and numerous eSports-ready multiplayer modes with fresh and updated maps.
