About This Game

Relive the era of great European commanders by taking charge during the Great Turkish War, the Thirty Years War, and the English Civil War. Change the course of history as you command your troops through distinct tactical battles, where the state of your army is influenced by previous encounters. Make strategic decisions on a new map involving terrain, supply lines, sieges, and attrition that determine success or failure. Enjoy hundreds of hours across four campaigns: the Gustavus Adolphus campaign for Swedes or Imperialists, the English Civil War for Royalists or Parliamentarians, the Great Turkish War featuring the 1683 Siege of Vienna for Austria, Poland, or the Ottomans, and a skirmish campaign spanning 1494 to 1698. The title includes 21 new army lists for the Italian Wars, 2 for Cornish and Scottish Royalists, and 37 for the reign of Louis XIV. It features 40 historical battles, 154 researched army lists, and 20 playable factions. Players can create unlimited "what-if" scenarios with historically accurate armies on computer-generated maps. Additional features include smart AI tailored to historical contexts, five difficulty settings, diverse troop types and capabilities, a built-in map editor, and multiplayer via PBEM. Downloadable user scenarios are also supported.
