The story
It looks like a standard Saturday night for Harvey Hachess as he walks out of his go-to video store to watch some movies. Heading home, he gets caught in a stormy downpour. Suddenly, he is struck by lightning! He is unconscious for a brief moment but continues walking home as if everything is fine.
Back at his house, Harvey settles in to watch a videotape, holding popcorn in one hand and the remote in the other. However, he notices that some scenes are gone from the film! He tries another tape, with the same outcome… He proceeds to check every single cassette he owns but finds nothing works.
After the final tape is ejected, the VCR emits an odd noise and the screen glows. Harvey is pulled into the television. He sees this as a chance to re-record all the tapes and save his membership at the video club.
