About This Game

In Slain: Back from Hell, you guide Bathoryn, a fated hero in a Gothic universe aiming to free six cursed realms from six powerful overlords. He must fight through a land filled with grim pixel art enemies, bypassing wicked traps and monsters to reach enemy strongholds. Each domain contains a major boss; victory pushes the quest forward, while failure results in horrific deaths involving werewolves, monstrosities, or hidden blades. Success requires mastering three aspects: utilizing three distinct elemental weapons with unique combos and switching between them effectively, learning enemy and trap patterns, and managing Mana usage carefully. The game's heavy metal aesthetic is matched by a soundtrack from Curt Victor Bryant (ex-Celtic Frost). Highlights include challenging elemental melee and magic combat, six hours of brutal action, three unique weapons, a full metal soundtrack, hidden secrets, a variety of boss fights, and a complete absence of grinding or crafting.
