About This Game

Merging the polish of SNES-era RPGs with roguelike mechanics, Tangledeep delivers a magical journey accessible to all skill levels. Trapped in underground settlements with no recollection of the surface, you must navigate a constantly shifting labyrinth to uncover the secrets above. Enjoy rich, turn-based tactical combat in a dungeon that evolves with every run, utilizing a flexible job system and hundreds of collectibles to customize your playstyle. The story follows inhabitants of underground villages whose only path upward is through "Tangledeep," a shifting maze filled with magical beasts, automatons, and strange biomes. Key features include finely-tuned procedurally generated and handcrafted content, deep tactical combat across 12 jobs with over 100 skills, and three game modes including an Adventure Mode that eliminates permadeath. You can capture and breed monsters in the Monster Corral, tweak difficulty with Game Modifiers, share progress via banking and magic trees, and explore ITEM DREAMS to upgrade gear. The game boasts beautiful 16-bit visuals and a soundtrack by acclaimed composers like Andrew Aversa, Hiroki Kikuta, Grant Kirkhope, and Norihiko Hibino. Participate in leaderboards, enjoy Steam cloud support and trading cards, and utilize the Steam Workshop for mods. It runs on PC, Mac, and Linux, supporting controllers, keyboard-only inputs, and full mouse-only control.
