About This Game
Developed by Key, this visual novel serves as a direct sequel to CLANNAD, specifically expanding upon Tomoyo's ending. Protagonist Tomoya works for a waste collection firm on the town's outskirts, enjoying a peaceful life with girlfriend Tomoyo after moving out on his own. The dynamic shifts when Tomoyo's brother, Takafumi, drops off their father's illegitimate child, Tomo, who was abandoned by her mother. Reluctantly, the couple takes her in. Soon after, Takafumi's ex-girlfriend Kanako runs away from home before summer vacation and joins them in the apartment. Thus begins the unique summer shared by Tomoya, Tomoyo, Tomo, Takafumi, and Kanako. The cast includes Tomoyo, the supportive heroine skilled in combat; Takafumi, her computer-savvy brother; Kanako, a foul-mouthed runaway; and Tomo, an innocent young girl. The game features a fully voiced story with talents like Hikaru Isshiki and Yuichi Nakamura. It includes "Dungeon & Takafumis," a comedic strategy RPG, and the English Edition adds "Tomopedia" to explain cultural references. The game was designed by Jun Maeda and Leo Kashida, illustrated by Fumio, with music by Shinji Orito, Magome Togoshi, and Jun Maeda. The theme song is "Light colors" by Lia.
