About This Game

Total Alarm (n): a nervous sense of impending doom

Mending decaying orbital outposts. Sourcing vital supplies via illicit markets. Evading government agents and spies. This defines daily existence under the oppressive gaze of the Collective. However, survival in this galaxy-wide totalitarian system involves more than just adapting to a scarcity-based economy. As ordinary assignments transform into something darker, a frightening secret will emerge—a truth the regime is desperate to suppress.

Mixing immersive storytelling with tactical resource oversight, Total Alarm places gamers in a retro-futuristic cosmos defined by authoritarian oppression. Playing as a fallen yet rebellious engineer, you must maneuver through a labyrinth of limited supplies, broken infrastructure, tyrannical governance, and social maneuvering in a race to discover the truth.

Key Gameplay Elements:

  • Journey through different stellar systems fixing rundown space stations
  • Discover the dark truth hidden behind the Collective's claims of hope
  • Utilize active underground markets to obtain forbidden items and favors
  • Oversee assets such as fuel, nav data, spare parts, and ration coupons
  • Participate in tactical battles using collectible cards
  • Establish circles of reliance while dodging moles and law enforcement
  • Select story paths that significantly alter relationships and conclusions
  • Test the faithfulness of companions new and old within this political trap
  • Upgrade your vessel and skills via an experience progression system

Living under this dictatorship means enduring fear, lack, and subjugation. Drawing influence from 20th-century Polish communism, the game's socialist-realist art style depicts this bleak dystopia across the void of space. Using a mix of toughness, bravery, and cleverness, you are the only one who can expose the reality and defeat the brutal methods of a government fighting for survival. The Collective is fundamentally dishonest... and the same goes for you.
