Turok

The classic dinosaur-hunting experience is back with Turok, restored from the 1997 original that first immersed players in a vast 3D world filled with cunning enemies and deadly weapons. This revitalized version utilizes a new visual engine and offers a host of modern features, including high-resolution and widescreen support, improved level design, and an OpenGL backend for better performance and portability. Visual enhancements like dynamic lighting, bloom, FXAA, and improved water effects bring the Lost Land to life, while players can enjoy full customization of controls and Steam Achievements.

The story takes place in the Lost Land, a dimension where time has lost all meaning and evil is unchecked. Turok, a time-traveling warrior pulled from his own era, must thwart the Campaigner, a wicked overlord intent on using the ancient Chronoscepter to tear apart the fabric of time. To save the universe, Turok must recover the scattered pieces of the Chronoscepter before the Campaigner can use his focusing array to reshape reality.

Gameplay features total freedom in a fully 3D virtual world, allowing players to run, jump, climb, and aim in any direction. You will face intelligent enemies programmed with ferocity and variable aggression profiles. An arsenal of 14 monstrous high-tech weapons is at your disposal, from the Grenade Launcher and Plasma Pulse Rifle to the Quad Rocket Launcher and the Atomic Fusion Cannon. The environment reacts dynamically with particle technology, featuring swaying cobwebs, exploding trees, and bubbling water. Bionically engineered dinosaurs, including Raptors and a Laser-Guided T-Rex, will hunt you relentlessly using head-tracking technology.
