About This Game
The Way of the Samurai franchise is famous for enabling players to make significant choices that drastically change the narrative, and the fourth chapter—previously limited to PS3—continues this legacy! The sword-fighting action, adventure, and drama of the series are now available on PC for the first time, preserving the blend of customization, exploration, combat, and quirky humor.
Set in the quiet port of Amihama in the mid-1800s, the game takes place years after the arrival of Western "black ships" ended Japan's isolation. The town's center has evolved into a "Little Britain" with European-style buildings, populated by foreign settlers. Not everyone welcomes them, causing three opposing factions to emerge.
Play as a master-less samurai seeking to make your mark in this land of conflict and opportunity. You must decide which faction to support among the region's three powers, shaping the history of Japan.
Will you assist the pro-government shogunate in maintaining peace and relations with foreigners?
Will you help the isolationists exiling those who threaten Japanese traditions?
Or will you join the British-led foreigners in establishing the silk trade and cultural exchange?
Who will you back? Who will you betray? You can become a hero of virtue or a villain, however you choose. The decision is yours...
Join the people of this divided harbor and enjoy the series' hallmarks:
• Storylines with multiple endings
• Dynamic combat
• Range of melee and gunpowder weapons
• Extensive character customization
• Key event decisions
• Sword collection
This PC version includes improvements over the original for the best experience:
• Enhanced UI with gamepad and keyboard support
• 8 Steam Trading Cards
• Steam Achievements
• Cloud Saves
